Where the name comes from
The one who saw the whole field
In the Mahabharata, the blind king Dhritarashtra could not see the battlefield at Kurukshetra, where everything he cared about would be decided.
Sanjaya, his counsellor, was given the sight to see all of it: every army, every movement, near and far. He sat beside the king and told him what was happening, as it happened.
He did not soften it. When the news was bad, he said so.
Every merchant sits in the king’s seat. Your sales are decided across many platforms, and nobody can watch them all at once. Sanjo is named for the one who could.
